Quiche is the Word!
I'm so glad Dead Men Don't Eat Quiche is out now, and so relieved I've been getting such wonderful reviews for it, as well as the first Martin and Owen book Dead Men Don't Chew Gum.
Luckily, when I read through them now, the fact that I had several meltdowns during Gum--"Why did I think I could write a mystery? There's so much to keep up with!"--and then during Quiche-- "Why did I tell everyone this was a mystery series? I can't even tell if this second one is any good!"--doesn't seem obvious at all.
After each of these meltdowns, Mr. Nina reminds me that I went into similar rants after working on my rom coms, too. I just get to a point where I've read through my book so many times, I feel like I have no perspective.
Anyway, I'm about 10,000 words into Dead Men Don't Flip and I'm actually going to do NaNoWriMo (an annual writer thing that I always said was stupid, when you try to write 50,000 words in November).
I'm trying to train myself to get my first drafts finished as quickly as possible so I can get books out faster. Not only do I have more Martin and Owen books I want to do, but I have notes for a number of spin-off romantic comedies starring other characters in the books.
Big thanks to my beta readers and free-read-for-review teams that come from my reader group! If you'd like to join the reader group and get notified of releases and other cool stuff,
